New semester, new blog

I haven't blogged at all since I was around 14, and deep in my oh-woe-is-me-no-one-understands-the-deep-seated-pain-in-my-soul stage. While thinking about starting a new blog for this class, I revisited my old account (no, I'm not going to tell you how to find it) and found it more than cringe-worthy, which made me even more conscious of the self I would be creating on this blog. I shudder to think that I'll look back in another 5 years and feel as completely alienated from my past, somehow other, self as I did upon reading the explosion of angst stemming from 10th grade me. On the other hand, going back through other relics of my past attempts at writing about myself is more pleasant - while home on Winter Break I found a bunch of my diaries from I was around 6 or 7, and what I could read was mostly pleasant reflections about my friends and a few obsessive entries about the Backstreet Boys and my deep-seated love of cats. Which, I have to say, hasn't changed much. (My love of cats, not so much of the Backstreet Boys. They stopped being interesting fairly quickly.)

Even more difficult to grapple with than the prospect of how I might feel about this down the road is the prospect of starting it. I really don't know what this blog is going to be, aside from updated twice a week, and so finding a starting point for it is especially difficult. For now, I'm going to have to content myself with posting some pictures of my afore-mentioned cats (and my dogs, as well), along with amusing captions, and calling it a blog post.

Lucy, or Goosey (or The Rottweiler Mix Who Fear Chihuahuas and Ceiling Fans but Runs to Cars)

Sunny, or SunBun (or The Dog Who Wears Hand-knit Sweaters)

Bundle (I wanted to name him Fergus.) He doesn't need a nickname.

Ana, or Squish (or The Cat Who Would Not Sit Still and Be Photographed)

Dominic, or Nik-Nik (or The Cat Who Would Have to Get By on His Good Looks (Meaning he's dumb as a box of rocks, but very pretty.))
